Joan Collaso with Isaiah Collier on sax, exquisitely covering "The Nearness of You" which is a popular song, written in 1938 by Hoagy Carmichael with lyrics by Ned Washington.
Chicago Studio Club was thrilled to be there as Hyde Park Jazz Society presented Joan Collaso 5th SUNDAY JAZZ Jam! Attendees were encouraged to keep up the festive spirit, by searching their closets for black, white, or silver to anticipate the New Year.
Vocalist Joan Collaso hosted this last jam of 2013 with Larry Hanks on piano, Larry Gray on bass and Ben Johnson on drums.
This LIVE MUSIC event was on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 7:30 - 11:30 pm. The admission was $10, students with university ID and children accompanied by an adult $5. Food and bar service was available.
This LIVE MUSIC event was at Room 43, 1043 E. 43rd St., Chicago! (773) 285 – 2222. Room 43 is one and a half blocks East of Ellis w/orange awnings. There is free parking on the street and @ the "ONE STOP" @ 43rd & Lake Park.
