Generation SPACE looking for young jazz musicians

Generation SPACE is looking for high school and college-age jazz

musicians for its spring and summer concerts.  Musicians interested

in playing a roughly 45-min set at SPACE on May 30, July 25, or

August 29th, 2011, should email Jake Hamburger at jakeham@comcast.net

with  the name of the group, instrumentation, repertoire (standards,

original music, Latin, etc.), and performance experience (where have

you played either as a group or individually).  Our shows are

generally double bill performances, followed by jam sessions led by

guests artists who in the past have included Eric Schneider, Frank

Caruso, and Paul Wertico.

Generation SPACE is a platform for young jazz artists to share their

talents and build a community of peer musicians.  We hold

performances each month showcasing some of Chicago’s most talented

young players.  On February 28th and March 28th, 2011, we are partnering

with Roosevelt University’s jazz combos and faculty, which includes

several top-notch student groups and professional educators such as

Paul Wertico, Paulinho Garcia, and Jim Trompeter. On April 25th, 2011, we

will be featuring the Jared Hochberg Quartet and the Max Clark Latin

Jazz Quintet.  Come check out these amazing performances and bring

your instruments to jam!
